Making single-use history in Bondi
Welcome to Bondi, where you can enjoy delicious food and coffee all whilst soaking in views of one of Australia’s most iconic beaches. Many local businesses are working hard to keep Bondi Beach beautiful by reducing or eliminating single-use takeaway packaging. By avoiding waste in the first place, we can reduce the chance of it ending up as litter on our famous shoreline.
Are you looking to enjoy takeaway food or drinks without the waste? If so, check out the businesses below, they all offer reusable alternatives to single-use takeaway packaging.

Get involved, make a pledge!
Take the next step on your single-use free journey by making a pledge to Ditch the Cup or Ditch the Container!
This initiative was started by Bondi locals Sondra Bream (bRu Coffee) and Sarah Wilson (best-selling author and climate activist) in 2021, who were both frustrated by the fact that one billion single-use coffee cups are thrown away in Australia each year. They started a campaign called Bring Your Own Cup (BYO) Week, in which participating cafes in Bondi and beyond banned single-use coffee cups for the first week of December to take a stand on single-use plastics.
Join this movement by making your pledge to ditch single use for good!
