Getting Around

Travel Map – Waverley Bus Routes

Getting around, to and from Bondi Beach is easy with multiple travel options including frequent buses, taxis and ride share options, and if you just want to get around Bondi Beach, then try a share bike or simply walk to take in all the beautiful views.

From Bondi Junction you can catch a train or bus to the city and beyond. The 333 and 380 buses are the main bus numbers that connect the 3kms between Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction Bus-Train Interchange (see map above). The 333 is pram, mobility aid and wheelchair accessible. You can plan your travel route here or click here for more access information.

Payment for public transport in Sydney is via an Opal Card or your credit card (including payment enabled smartphones, watches and other devices). Opal Cards are the prepaid travel cards used to access bus, train and ferry services in Sydney.  These can be purchased and topped up from most train stations, and newsagent stores (look for the circular Opal Logo).

Contactless Payment is a new feature on all bus, train and ferry services, it lets you use a credit card, a debit card or a linked device to pay for travel, the same as an Opal Card.  However, some credit cards from outside Australia may automatically trigger an overseas transaction charge.  For more information visit Transport NSW; Contactless payments and Best ways for visitors to pay.

Waverley Council acknowledges the Bidjigal, Birrabirragal and Gadigal people, who traditionally occupied the Sydney Coast and we pay respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders both past and present.
