Thursday afternoon 34 hours 9 minutes and 25 seconds

They’ve done it

Still plenty of energy at 34 hours and 1 minute

2 hours into the game on Wednesday morning.

Beyond Blue partnered with the local Tama Touch rugby team for The Longest Game that happened this week. Setting out to break the Guinness World Record for the longest beach touch football game on Bondi Beach to raise funds and awareness for Beyond Blue’s suicide prevention and mental health initiatives by playing non-stop for over 34 hours. They succeeded.

There were eleven players a side with 6 on the field at any one time. They slept and ate on the sidelines and could only leave for toilet breaks.

The goal was in fact 34 hours, 9 minutes and 25 seconds. Thirty four hours was to be break the record and the extra time was to lock it in but not so much as to make it impossible for another team to have a go.
