Tamarama

A serene cove with surfer’s waves and rugged headlands

Nestled between Bondi and Bronte, Tamarama Beach offers a quieter escape with natural beauty, excellent surf and a laid-back beach atmosphere.

Arts and culture

Each October, Tamarama transforms into an open-air gallery during the annual Sculpture by the Sea exhibition. This event brings vibrant energy to the beach, with large-scale sculptures blending into the coastal landscape.

Surf and sand

Tamarama’s waves are ideal for experienced surfers, while sunbathers can unwind on the soft sand and take in the view. The rugged headlands surrounding the beach provide breathtaking views, adding to the peaceful and secluded charm of the area.

Parks and walks

Tamarama Beach Park is one of Waverley’s most notable beach reserves, featuring a kiosk, barbecue facilities, sheltered picnic areas and convenient restroom facilities—ideal for a relaxed day by the beach. It’s also a popular stop along the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk.

Getting to Tamarama

Tamarama Beach is only a 15-minute walk from the centre of Bondi Beach along Campbell Parade or a 20-minute bus trip from Bondi Junction. For details on how to get to Tamarama Beach and explore the area, see Getting here.
