Beach patrol hours
No matter the season, our lifeguards are here to keep you safe:
High season (October to April): 6am–7pm
Low season (May to September): 7am–5:30pm
Lifeguards vs. Lifesavers
Both lifeguards and lifesavers play a vital role in beach safety, but here’s the key difference:
- Lifeguards are highly trained professionals employed by Waverley Council, patrolling the beaches daily. Look for their blue uniforms.
- Lifesavers are volunteers who patrol the beaches during summer. Look for their red and yellow uniforms.
Whether you’re swimming, surfing, or simply relaxing on the sand, our lifeguards are always on hand to ensure your safety.
